The seeds are sown by me, but the fruits of this adventure are the result of your comments and continued support.
Love the Minaret. Not sure of the Burj..sorta reminds me of Saruman's tower from, the lord of the rings! :) hmm.. a caption eh? "Good things come in small sizes & packages"?
Amazing, buj. have you tried being a member in the Emirates photography society? They hold competitions and offer courses. They're kind people and you'll benefit a great deal you won't regret. Check out their website. Btw, you could collect all your nice shots in a separate blog buj. If you want I'd suggest some templets.. I have found some good websites as I also wanna change my photolog template..
ya 7ilween... (sweet ones)Rosh... glad u love the minaret.. maybe it's time you converted :) you will be most welcomed!Nice caption btw.. there are some good competitions out there.. check out:http://photocompetition.dic.ae/AA RoseAt the moment I'm not a member of the society.. but i should join!!! is it full of hacks or really interesting people?! the problem with Buj is that he likes to do things alone.. not coz he thinks he's better than everyone but coz he enjoys the peace and quiet. for example, i go offroad biking a lot, and it's dangerous but i cannot take anyone. i feel it's wrong. it's like going on a romantic holiday with your wife/husband then taking your parents, your kids, cousins and maid as well.same for photography, if they can give me tips and i can help then good, but group sessions etc.. yuk hehehemy lil bro told me to start a photo blog. but the pictures i take are personal.. ok the burj is fine, but most are of people and places that are personal and cannot be shared under buj al arab... but in the meantime maybe i can publish a few on this blog or your photoblog :)
same for photography, if they can give me tips and i can help then good, but group sessions etc.. yuk hehehe..Double yuck too. I agree with you on the forums, but the UAE society is a trusted one, not a bunch of jobless who needs to get a life like it is the case in other web communities or forums. No discussions, just drop a question or anything you'd like to be enlightened about, and you'll get the answer. You are way better than me in photography, I suck, so for me it's important to find someone to ask and get the help as a beginner. I was planning to take a 1-month photography course starting from the past week but I found it conflicted with my swimming classes, so I gave up, but they promised me there will be another course after a month or so. Hopefully.. but in the meantime maybe i can publish a few on this blog or your photoblog :)....you're most welcome! My pleasure
Rose.. ur right.. they sound like a good bunch of people.. but u can learn a lot from websites..10% of what i know is from school.. they taught us about shutter speed, f-number, ISO, etc..90% of what i know is from this website:http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech.htmthe guy is really a genius.. sometimes i just wanna write to him and say ur amazing..but he is very famous and complains that he gets 2000 emails a day, so i won't bother.anyway if u need any help let me know.. i can try to answer ur questions.. photography is very simple.. u just need to SEE the picture in ur eye .. and u can take pics with the cheapest camera. but if u cannot visualise it then don't bother taking the picture.maybe u need to think about picture composition rather than technical boring stuff like shutter speeds etc..have a read of this:http://kenrockwell.com/tech/composition.htmThis link is VIP.. it really explains a lot...the following below are good but u need to read the top one firsthttp://kenrockwell.com/tech/not-about-your-camera.htmhttp://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/pen.htmhappy clicking
anyway if u need any help let me know..I will. thanks Buj. and thanks for the great link! wonder why my so many trys at google-searching on photography didn't lead me to it.. it's so helpful I have browsed it a little but it needs a whole day to be read carefully! Thanks!
I like the way that the minaret is in there. Just proves that religious affiliation never come in the way of progress!
Cool Picture... sums things up, no?
