Gmail offline

Has anyone suffered from the disrupted gmail last night? I did. For more info:

It's impressive how reliant we are on Gmail for news and information, at least I am! What about you?

    it's SCARY how dependent we've become on technology. one of these days, i'll pack up my bags and move into the mountains.
    where there will be no electricity - only thuraya.

    I hardly use email, in comparison with other people...yet I felt it! It was like the world came to an end. The reliance on it for the simplest things (like retrieving forgotten passwords) made me realize I need to enable IMAP and start reading my email via a desktop client. Heaven help if that fails for a few hours!

    I heard about this on the news. Fortunately for me by the time it had gone down, i was done and dusted with my gmailing for the day :O) muhahaha!

    But it is amazing how just a few hours of no gmail can send us into panic, sadness, fear, anxiety! Madness really.
